Be True To Your School

My picture shows what a Blackville school bus would look like. It represents the school because it has the logo on it. I did not find anything challenging about this assignment. No I do not any interest in doing digital art. I am not a computer person. No, I would never do auto detailing as a job. It is way to frustrating.

Before The War

I chose to edit this picture because it look like it was the easiest one to edit. The part that was most challenging was having to blend in spots that were missing. Also I had to clone his hair, because it was cut off. No I have never retouched a photo because I just never really thought of having to edit them. No I would not want to do this as a job because I get to frustrated while doing this.

Freak of Nature

I selected a Cat and a Squirrel because they of my two favorite animals. I found this whole assignment challenging. I was very frustrated throughout all of it. Nothing was easy about this. My creation looks very photo-shopped. It does not look realistic at all. No i have not used photo editing software before. Mostly because it is to frustrating for me.

Automobile Body Styles and Design

Part One of Two

Automobile Body Styles
Coupes- Coupes are often the sporty types of cars. The doors are reduced from 4 to 2.The coupe body style ranges from car maker to car maker. There are now even four-door coupes like the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. ‘Coupe' comes from the French verb ‘couper'. This means ‘to cut'. An example of a two-door coupe is the Audi A5.

Convertible- A convertible, is a body style with a retractable roof. These cars often have canvas roofs, though today these are also made of plastic, aluminium or steel. Convertibles are usually two-door cars. An example of such a car is the BMW Z4.

Pickup- A pickup is a light motor vehicle with an open rear cargo area known as a ‘bed'. They are extremely popular in the US. Pickup also applies to coupe utility vehicles, where they are based on a car chassis or a dedicated platform. Pickups are called ‘utes' in Australia and New Zealand. They are often available with two or four doors for the passengers. An example of a pickup is the Tata Xenon.

SUV- An SUV, means 'Sports Utility Vehicle', is similar to an estate, but usually bigger and higher off the ground. SUV's are often offered with four-wheel-drive and are designed for both on- and off-road use. Some have the towing capacity of a pickup, and offer the passenger carrying capacity of a minivan or large sedan. An example of an SUV is the Ford Endeavour.

Hatchback- A hatchback is a car with a sloping back and a hinged rear door that opens towards the sky. These cars range from SUVs, MPVs or vans. They are usually much more compact. Hatchbacks usually have seating for four to five people is most likely a tight squeeze. An example of a hatchback is the Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Part Two of Two

Automobile Design

1. It takes ten years to design a car and they start off with the sketching phase that is mostly done on the computer.
2.  Design is called problem solving because they have to find a design that is pleasing to everyone with no flaws.
3. The feasibility stage is when they take their sketches and make sure they can actually be done and match up with the engineering. This is the largest part to designing a car and is where all the negotiating comes in play.
4. I don't think designing an automobile would interest me because it's a very stressful job and you need to be creative with your ideas.

Careers and Certification in the Automotive Industry

Part One of Three

1. Some of the high-tech systems on automobiles today that were unheard of 30 years ago are:
  • Traction control
  • Cruise control
  • Variable valve timing
2.  Some areas that young people have skills for a career as an automotive technician are:
  • Technician skills
  • Math
  • Science
  • Communication
3. Automobile technicians can begin their career after only two years of education, so they can start their work sooner, and start making money.

4. There are expected to be 237 500, jobs as a automobile technician, with a 30% growth rate.

5. The automotive technician career is fairly immune to outsourcing of jobs, unlike careers such as computer programming, accounting services, and customer call center work.

6. Four other positions that an automotive technician can do in the automotive industry are:
  • With schools and colleges as a instructor
  • Work in the technician services
  • High performance rebuilding and machining
  • Work in parts distribution and wholesaling
7. The automotive technician role is sometimes called "the portal career" because so many people have started their career in the automotive aftermarket as an automotive technician.

Reflection

What I think would be interesting about being a automobile technician is learning all the new stuff about cars and how to fix them. Something I found interesting about the film was how it's kind of like a mystery when they get in an automobile and they have to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. The notion of life-long learning is important for these workers because there will always be something new they have to learn because technology is always advancing. If people don't try to learn, they wont be able to do their job because they wouldn't know how it works and how to solve the issue. Some skills or characteristics that an automotive technician should have are; the ability to communicate with people, basic math, science, and English skills.

Part Two

NATEF- The mission of the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) is to improve the quality of automotive technician training programs nationwide at secondary, also post-secondary, public and proprietary schools.
SGS- Their purpose is to help every player in the automotive industry improve performance and reduce risk, they focus on the design, construction and operation of motor vehicle inspection solutions all over the world.
ASE-is short for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. Since 1972 our independent non-profit organization has worked to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service by testing and certifying automotive professionals.

Part Three

I think the job I would enjoy the most would be "Super car Test Driver." I would enjoy this because it seems like a very fun and interesting job. I also like to drive fast vehicles. The job I think I would enjoy the least would be a "Car Designer." I am not interested in designing anything. I like to look at the finished project.

Part Two of Two - Tech for the Sake of Tech?

  • It didn't surprise me at all that the younger generation, age 21-38, didn't want this technology. People in my generation would probably use these qualities a lot more because we use technology a lot more than the last generation and it would be safer.
  • I think that these technologies only make it more dangerous. The people would probably be more concentrated on trying to figure out how the technology works than driving. This may cause accidents.
  • The people that I know, they don't really consider the technology when buying a new car. They more look at what the car is like in the road and how much space there is inside. The only technology they really look for is cruise control. That is basically it.
  • When purchasing my own automobile, I think I would look for the in-car cell phone options. This option is important because it would save you from looking for your phone. In the car it is synced with Bluetooth.
  • One new feature that older drivers may have thought was useless is in 1935, when flashing turn signals were invented. They may have thought they would never need it. Now whenever you go to turn you need to use it.

Monday 25 April 2016

Part One of Two - Technologies in Development

  • Out of the six car technologies that I viewed, I think the Flying Car technology would be the least likely to happen. There are too many issues that go against this from happening, and to be realistic it is too dangerous.
  • I think that car to car communication will have the most impact on today's society. This is basically like the cars telling each other where they are going and how fast they are moving. Although it's pretty strange, it will prevent a lot of accidents.
  • The technology that is almost a reality is probably the Tesla Supercharge Stations. I think this because they already have some of them around, in places like California and Florida.
  • Ford's"Driver Workload Estimator", from what I can understand, measures the levels of stress the driver is under in certain situations. I think this technology could keep the driver safer by allowing them to concentrate on the road in certain situations.
  •  Some advantages would be its speed, which is 200mph and its ability to cover large distances in a short period of time. Another advantage is that no runway is needed and you can choose whether a spot is land-able or not. A disadvantage for the car would be it probably costs a lot of money. No middle class people would be able to buy this car, only rich people.
  • The idea of a self driving car to many people around the world. Sure it may be an advancement in technology and potentially safer, but I think it takes the true meaning out of driving. This would take the fun away from driving. People should g=have their own choice on wanting to drive or not.

Part Four of Four - Automobile Timeline

Automobile Timeline
  • 1908- Model T is introduced. Henry Ford starts making the Model T. This is interesting because it's really cool that they made that many cars, 10 660 cars in the first year of production.
  • 1913- First moving assembly line for automobiles developed. This is interesting because as a result of this, the Model T's prices can go lower and become more affordable.
  • 1939- First air conditioning system added to automobiles. I find this interesting because without this first air conditioner, there wouldn't be much chance of us having air conditioners now, that was our foundation for the modern-day thing.
  • 1919- First single foot pedal to operate coupled four-wheel brakes. I find this interesting because before this, drivers had to use separate hand and foot brakes simultaneously.

Part Three of Four - Your Video Selections (Two Videos)

My Video Selections

The Assembly line: Then and Now
http://www.history.com/topics/henry-ford/videos/history-of-the-holidays-the-story-of-labor-day

-Machines do the jobs that humans used to do today over 250 robots take the jobs that are repetitive.
-The assembly line was made in 1800 but changed in 1910 when Henry Ford started making model T cars and it would take about 16 hours to make just one, when they made the assembly line it took only half the time.
-Before they had the assembly lines with the machines the workers were almost treated like machines.

 The Rise of Henry Ford
http://www.history.com/topics/henry-ford/videos/the-rise-of-henry-ford

-Henry Ford came from an agricultural background, but he hated it.
-Henry Ford didn't invent the internal combustion engine, he read articles about it and developed his own version of it.
-In 1903, Ford created the Ford Motor Company was formed with the help of investors.
-His car was priced at $800, compared to the average $1500 of other cars.

Part Two of Four - Henry Ford and the Model T

Henry Ford and the Model T

1. The assembly line changed from suggestions made by Henry Ford because instead of the workers moving down the line the line itself moved.
2. They tend to stay longer and was more committed to the company because he treated them fairly in terms of pay. He was guaranteeing a more “livable wage” than anyone else was.
3. They cost a little over $1000.00. It was made for the common man.
4. The model T price dropped to $800 dollars then dropped to about $300 dollars. I think that it dropped so much because other companies started making cars and he wanted people buying cars from him.
5. The automobile offered people to travel whenever they wanted and they didn’t have to rely on the railroads for transportation, they could do it whenever they wanted.

Part One of Four - Carl Benz

Carl Benz

1. The automobile has been around for 120 years.
2. Patent- a government authority or license conferring a right or title for a short period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention.
3. The title that Carl Benz uses to describe the automobile is "a vehicle with gas engine".
4. Carl Benz's wife, Bertha and his 2 eldest sons test drive his automobile in August of 1888, without him knowing. The first petrol station is born from this.
5.  The "axial pivot steering system" helps with the problem of not being able to steer the front two wheels simultaneously.
6. The new name of the company when the two companies are merged is Mercedes Benz.
7. Something that Benz experienced as a pioneer in technology that many other pioneers will never be able to experience is that he lived to see his dream come true, which was the breakthrough of the automobile.

Journal Entry #8: Digital Law

When completing the Digital Law unit, what really stood out to me is that this unit is very close to home and relatable. Teens are often dealing with these situations all the time. It is surprising that so many situations can be a problem with other's livesThe only somewhat difficult part with this unit was attempting to locate some of the information which was not too hard to deal with. I think the NeedHelpNow website is great for people having a hard time looking for help. I think the copyright manual is very helpful for students that are unsure of the copyright issues because it has a lot of useful information and it is very easy to understand. NeedHelpNow.com is a very useful website for people looking for help with cyber bullying because it also has a lot of information that is put so readers can understand it all. I think the biggest issue for young people and copyright is that sometimes we don't know we're doing it and we don't think of it as serious as it actually is.

Assignment #2: Cyberbullying and Privacy

1. Two actions that can violate someone's privacy are:
Non-Consensual Distribution of an Intimate Image if someone has a sexual/intimate picture/video of you that was created in private circumstances, and that person knowingly posts it online or shares it with someone else knowing that you would not consent to that (or being reckless about whether you would consent to it), the person could be charged.
Voyeurism secretly observing or recording a person who reasonably believes his/her actions are private and
2. Harassment -making threats
-stalking-repeatedly texting/emailing
Blackmail (extortion)
-pushing
-shoving
-yelling
3. Three ways on how to report a potential crime are
- Police (Online Agency or Phone Detachment)
- Cybertip.ca (Online reporting site or i.e.a site such as America's most wanted)
- Other options (Telling an adult, Kids help phone, etc.)
4. Removing Pictures and Videos from the internet- If a sexual picture or video is ever leaked online, there are procedures to have an intimate photo/video removed. Saying your age, you gave the photo/ video to someone else, saying you sent the photo to something else, and saying you did not post nor want the photo to be posted online are all important things to include while remove unwanted pictures.
Dealing with peers- shows how you can regain control of your situation. One of the best things to do when you are being harassed on the internet or in person is to not respond to them. This makes them feel like they aren't getting to you and it may turn them off to bullying you.
5. After watching these three short videos, There were many interesting points. The most important one would be to not let others live your life. You have the right to protect yourself and others.
6. One way I could help the #ChangeTheStory campaign would be sharing it with my friends on social media.

Assignment #1: Copyright and Copy-wrong

1. The purposes of research, private study, criticism, review, news reporting, education, satire, and parody.

2. Up to 10 per cent of a copyright-protected work can be copied under fair dealings.

3. Copying or communicating multiple short excerpts from the same copyright-protected work with the intention of copying or communicating substantially the entire work is prohibited.

4. A fee can be charged but it has to cover only the cost of the institution, including overhead cost.

5. Yes teachers can copy and use other peoples work for the teaching and tests.

6. To make a large print book, they must have permission from the owner.

7. Yes teachers and students can use audio or video for school projects.
Rules-
• it must take place on the premises of an educational institution;
• it must be for educational or training purposes;
• it must not be for profit;
• it must take place before an audience consisting primarily of students of the educational institution, persons acting under its authority, or any person who is directly responsible for setting a curriculum for the educational institution; and
• it must not involve a “motive of gain.“

8. Yes students at school preform a play or play music that is copyrighted. The same conditions as cited for audio and video apply. They can also play music with these conditions:
• take place on the premises of an educational institution;
• be for educational or training purposes;
• not be for profit; and
• take place before an audience consisting primarily of students of the educational institution, persons acting under its authority, or any person who is directly responsible for setting a curriculum for the educational institution.

9. Schools require permission at their own dances and sporting events. SOCAN and Re:Sound can provide licences to schools and school boards across Canada.

10. The key questions are:
• Did the music use occur during school hours?
• Will the student be graded on the activity involving the music use?
• Does the music use involve a demonstration by a student or teacher for other students, teachers, assessors, or parents?
• Is it reasonable to consider the music use to be for educational purposes? The phrase “educational purposes” is not defined in the Copyright Act but can be described as an activity that is planned and where the objective is for students to meet one or more subject or program outcomes. • Was the music used on school premises?
• If admission was controlled, was it free?
• Was the music use for a non-profit purpose?

11. Students and teachers can use other's copyright protected work to create new works.
Rules:
  • It can only be used for non-commercial purposes.
  • The original source must be mentioned, if it is reasonable to do so.
  • The original work used to generate the content must have been acquired legally.
  • The resulting user-generated content does not have a “substantial adverse effect” on the market for the original work.
 12. Teachers can show audiovisual works purchased or rented from a retail store, a copy borrowed from the library, a copy borrowed from a friend, and a YouTube video.

13. No teachers cannot copy an audiovisual work at home and then show it in the classroom. Teachers can, however, show a legally obtained copy in the classroom.

14.  The owner of a computer program can make a single copy in these two situations:
  • An owner of a legitimate copy of a computer program may make one backup copy of that program. The person must be able to prove that the backup copy is erased as soon as he or she ceases to be the owner of the copy of the computer program from which the backup was made.
  • An owner of a legitimate copy of a computer program may also make a single copy of that program by adapting, modifying, or converting the computer program or translating it into another computer language.
15. Yes students and teachers can copy from the internet. They must cite the source of the material they used.

16. The works you create in school are copyright protected. I think this is good because without people would steal your work and you wouldn't get credit.

Journal Entry #7: Digital access

The thing I found most surprising about this unit hat small communities are getting more of an advantage to high-speed internet than very populated cities are getting. The thing I found most difficult was trying to think of three positive and negative things. I found it difficult because I had to think of a lot of points to go with the statement.   I do think everyone should have fast, reliable internet because it is very frustrating if you don't have it and the companies would get a lot of complaints. You should be happy with the internet speed you have. I am concerned about my privacy online because I never know if someone is going to get my information. I do not consider ways I can prevent my privacy because I never really think about it. What I think is the biggest issue for young people with digital access and privacy is that they will post things they will regret.

Thursday 25 February 2016

Assignment #2: Privacy Please

1. Our medical records should be all digitally stored online for all medical professionals to access within the hospital when needed.

Positive
- Easier to access, could find them yourself
- Less chance of records being lost
- Cheaper than putting your records on paper
Negative
- Hackers can break the system and see your personal information
- When changing things like this, a lot could go wrong
- If the programs were down your records could not be reached

2. School report cards and daily attendance should be digital and passwords should be issued for parents to log in and check results.

Positive
- Parents would have access to their child's report card files all the time
- Would help the parents keep track of how their child is doing in their classes
- Would make it easier on teachers, they would not have to print out hundreds of report cards
Negative
- It would have to be updated a lot
- Parents may not have access to internet, so they can not check
- Parents might not have the time to check

3. Voting should be done 100% online for both provincial and federal elections starting in 2017.

Positive
- Easy to do
- It would be private
- More people may want to vote
Negative
- People could vote more than once
- People may be able to see who you are
- People may not have the internet, which means they could not vote

Assignment #1: Fast Internet Speeds in Small Towns

1. According to the article, some internet connections in rural communities are ten times quicker.
2. These small communities, and many more, have fast internet because they have high-throughput fiber-optic cables deployed directly into homes and businesses, enabling the quickest-yet speeds of up to 1,000 megabits, or one gigabit, per second.
3. They are really fortunate because their owners are very forward-thinking. This means that they are way ahead of the curve in terms of wanting to provide the best technology available.
4. The community Olds decided to build their own fiber network because the community did not want sluggish internet. They paid for this with government grants and loans.
5. The University of Waterloo opened a campus there, and Royal Bank opened a $400-million data center.
6. Bell's Aliant unit has brought fiber to more than a million premises in Atlantic Canada, and also to Northern Ontario.
7. Small towns need high-speed internet more than ever to keep employers and residents from fleeing to hooked-up cities.
8. The Federal government has supplied $305-million subsidy to ensure nearly every household in the country has at least minimal, five megabit-per-second broadband.

Tuesday 23 February 2016

Journal Entry #6: Digital Business

What I found most surprising about this unit was the competition between online and offline shopping. I was not aware of the community on online shopping. I did not really find anything confusing about this unit. I did have some trouble finding information about Paypal. I have never purchased anything online, I also have never sold anything online either. Two tips I feel that would be useful are:
1- Consider getting a "credit line" at the bank and transferring credit card purcahses to the credit line ASAP to take advantage of the LOWER INTEREST RATES
2- When buying using KIJIJI and other online service make sure buying is done in a PUBLIC PLACE and never send money via mail or other ways to the seller
I think these tips are useful because people use these types of things a lot.
The biggest issue for young people when it comes to shopping and selling online would be the dangers. Young people do not fully understand how things work online. They could end up buying something that they do not have the money for. This would not be good.

Assignment #2: Paypals

1. PayPal is a safe way for people to transfer money between buyers and sellers online. It is so popular because it is accessible so quickly and is easy to use.
2. Paypal keeps you safe while shopping online because they do not share your personal information. This protects you from identity fraud.
3. Paypal charges their costumers hidden fees. This is how they make their money.
4. If you purchase something in Asia and it does not arrive. Paypal can help you get your money back.
5. I would use Paypal for my payment because it seems like a reliable website to use. I can trust them with my information.
6. Once I compared Paypal to Google Wallet I found that I preferred Paypal more.  I preferred Paypal more than the others because it seems more helpful and secure.

Assignment #1: Shopping Carts?

1. The two biggest reasons people still shop at stores are:
- If you shop for clothes, you will want to make sure it is a good fit and looks good
- People might find it easier because they can just go to the store and get what they want without having to wait for delivery
2. The two biggest reasons people shop online are:
-  There is more selection online than in stores
-  You can customize to your own liking
3. The buying experience I would prefer would be to shop at stores. I personally do not like shopping online because I do not have patients to wait for the thing I bought to be delivered.
4. I think in the year 2050 the buying experience will be evenly balanced because people will stick to shopping online, and people will keep shopping at stores.
5. I think it would be a good business plan because everyone would be shopping online and stores would not be competing with each other as much.
6. One way online stores can make their return policies more convenient are letting the buyers know the second time their products are being delivered, will be a lot faster.

Journal Entry #5: Digital Wellness

After I finished the unit on digital wellness, there are a few things that surprised me. One thing was noticing how much time people actually spend using technology. Including cellphones. When we do the metre stick activity, it showed how far you can go while texting and driving. It basically shows that you have no control of the vehicle if you are texting while driving. I did not find this unit difficult in any way. The only thing I can think of that may have been difficult for me would be having to think of five pledges that I can relate to.
I think the biggest problem for young people when it comes to digital wellness would be the amount of time they spend on technology everyday. I can think of people that will not do anything without their phone. It is like technology is an addiction. It is not healthy to spend that much time on it. I would say a minimum of three hours a day is a reasonable amount of time to use technology.

Assignment #2: The Pledge

Five things I pledge to do to keep my online and daily life healthy are:
1- I pledge to never let technology get in the way of important things
2- I pledge to turn of my devices at a certain time every night
3- I pledge to only be on my devices to a minimum time per day
4- I pledge to do more physical activity than internet exploring
5- I pledge to put technology after schoolwork

Assignment #1: One Missispie

1. After I did the meter stick activity, I noticed how long one second really is while diving a certain speed. I also noticed how far you can end up going in a certain amount of time. This is why you should never take your eyes of the road while you are driving a vehicle.
2. One reason why this commercial is effective is because it shows how quick something can happen when you take your eyes off the road.
One reason why it may not change is because the people in the commercial probably knew that you were not suppose to take your eyes off the road, but when they got a text message their eyes went strait to their phones.
3. An invention that can help drivers from being distracted could be a sensor that knows when you take your eyes off the road. When this sensor is alerted, an alarm will sound and the driver will put his/her eyes back on the road.
4. I think that if I was in a car with someone and they were speeding or being distracted, I would tell them to slow down and to concentrate. If they did not listen I would never get a drive with them again.

Monday 22 February 2016

Journal Entry #4: Netiquette

What I found most surprising when it comes to issues around Netiquette was the amount of  people that do not know the dangers online and how much much trouble you can get into for doing illegal things online. I do not think that most people read the terms of service/use agreements when joining an online site. I think this because when In have to read them, I never do. I do believe you should because it is important information. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate myself a seven out of ten. I gave myself that rate because I follow most of the rules, but do not read all of the necessary instructions.
I think the biggest issue is when it comes to young people using foul language online. Also when they do not follow the rules

Online Discussion Boards (Assignment #3)

1. A lot of these are similar to face to face conversations because talking in person is almost the same as chating with someone online. In person, we talk to each other nicely because we do not want to seem rude or disrespectful. Online we talk the same way because we know that we are still talking to someone.
2. Four guidelines that I feel are very important when interacting with other people online are:
- To not use all capital letters because they might think your yelling at them
- Be polite because if your not they might think your rude
- Do not call names because they will probably take it personally
- Do not Hold grudges because you just forgive the person and move on and leave it in the past
3. No I have never made a comment on a discussion board. If I ever did the comment would probably be a positive one.
4. I think I would enjoy a course where I could discuss issues online with other students because we would get to talk about all the issues that are wrong and try to fix them.

Do As I Say (Assignment #2)

Five reasons why I do things the right way in digital society:
1- Acting right online will show how you act as a person. If you act mature and responsibly online it shows that you are a mature and responsible person.
2- I would choose not to send hate or blackmail because that is not right. I would not want someone sending me that online. It is also a form of cyberbullying.
3- If you do not act right online you may get in very deep trouble with your parents or guardians. You could also get in trouble with the law.
4- I choose not to hack. Hacking can make you end up in jail. Hacking is a very terible thing and it should stop.
5- Using social media sites in the wrong ways can cause concecuncss for you in the future. Say if you went to a job interview and they looked at your social media information, then they notice foul language. This will not help you in any way.

I believe acting well online will make others look at you as a very nice and respectful person.

Online Standards of Service Use (Assignment #1)

Five major company websites that use terms and service agreements are:
1- Microsoft Office
2- Netflix.ca
3- Facebook.com
4- Snapchat
5- iTunes

5 things you should be aware of when not reading Terms of Service and Agreements are:
1- If a website hosts your photo, they also own it-- this means any photo you upload onto a certain website allows them to use it for any future reference.
2-  You don't own what you buy-- meaning any games/ music you purchase online are still under value of i.e. Facebook
3- When using location device systems such as OnStar, they can sell your driving data and personal information to whoever
4- Companies such as Apple are permitted to see your precise location wherever you are; which is basically sending your personal data to a hidden database file and syncs whenever you connect to your phone
5- When agreeing to Terms and Agreements, you are agreeing to clause of arbitration.
This is cancelling your right to sue.

Journal Entry #3 (Digital Rights and Responsibilities)

After completing the assignment on Digital Rights and Responsibilities, One of the things I found most surprising would be how often these ideas are ignored. One way they are ignored is bullying online. We tell people everyday not to bully online, but it is ignored and people continue to do it. Another way is that there are people using other people's work. That is plagiarism.

In my opinion, I do not think that people act responsibly online. I think that when people use technology they do not know the risks of having their account hacked. They also might not realize that they are sharing personal information.

The commandment I believe is most important would be " Thou shalt not hack" I think this is most important because when you hack or get hacked, you are taking that persons personal information. You should never hack because it is not your business to be stealing others information.

One of the biggest issues around digital rights and responsibilities with young people online would be cyber bulling. This is a major issue because it is not right to hurt people online or in any other way. People spread hate to others and think nothing of it but really, they do not know how much they could be hurting that other person.

Assignment: Digital Rights and Responsibilities

Journal Entry #2 (Digital Communication)

The thing I found most surprising is when I realized how many people actually use acronyms when they are not supposed to. I found this surprising because I only that people would use these types of things while talking to their peers.

Three things I learned from the video about email are:
1- Don't use certain types of words because the reader might think it is spam
2- Don't type in all caps
3- Don't leave things blank

Blind Carbon copy is being able to send an email out to a group of people but other people don't know who it was sent to.

I think that the most useful thing for young people to do while using digital communication is to be careful who they email and that they should make sure that the format is followed.

Acronyms Attack (Assignment Two)

Three more acronyms that I can think of are:
1- TT- Test Today
2- TBH- To Be Honest
3- OMW- On My Way

Four places I would never use acronyms are:
1- Application
2- School write up
3- Anything job related
4- On a blog

Communication Compass (Assignment One)

The definition of digital communication is any electronic exchanging of information.

Four advantages for digital communication are:
1- You are connected with others
2- You know whats going on in the world
3- You can meet new people
4- You can search for information you don't know
Four disadvantages for digital communication are:
1- You are always on your digital device
2- You will lose sleep
3- You don't have as much privacy
4- You have a risk of people finding out personal information

I think that the three most popular forms of digital communication are:
1- Facebook
2- Texting
3- FaceTime
I think that these forms of digital communication are popular because you can talk to someone in the click of a button.

Three forms of digital communication that I think may not be around much longer are:
1- Facebook
2- Email
3- Texting
I think that these forms of digital communication might not be around much longer because there are so many knew sites that you can chat to people on.

Five locations or scenarios in real life where you really SHOULD NOT be communicating digitally are:
1- In class because you wont be paying attention
2- At a funeral because you should pay your respects
3- At a restaurant because you should pay attention to your family
4- At work because your not supposed to be on your phone or websites
5- A life threatening event. Don't go on your phone for help

One great danger would be when people cyber bully or harass online. This can lead to injury or even death.
Another great danger is if somebody attacks your character such as blackmail or scams.

I do believe that human kids will always be more connected to digital communication because I see kids today that are 9-12 with iPhone's in their pockets.

If somebody that has Facebook and other digital communication sites passes away I think that their account should be left alone because it was their account and no one should have access to it.

Journal #1 Digital Security

The thing that i found most surprising when it comes to digital security and creating passwords was learning how safe you have to be when creating passwords and while you are on a website.

I did not find anything difficult or confusing about this section because it was mostly common sense. It was common sense because most people know now that they are supposed to use strong passwords and not ones that are easy to guess.

I think that most of my passwords are very secure. I do have some very weak passwords that I might have to change because somebody could easily guess them. I only use weak passwords on things that are not that important.

I think the most important thing to remember when considering passwords and digital security is to make sure you have a very strong password. You also have to be careful on the internet.

Digital Security (Assignment One)

I think that the passwords "123456", "password", and "12345678" are not good passwords. They are not hard to guess. I know that these are not good passwords because I have used these before and then soon found out that people were guessing it and getting into my account.

Yes, I have used these passwords before. I regret using these passwords because people have guessed them and gotten my information.

I think that they would be more likely to use it because they might need a password that is easier to remember. If they have already used them, we could tell them to change it as soon as possible.

Three passwords I can think of that are horrible are: Your name, your pets name, or your birth date.

A strong password should have eight or more characters with a few numbers after it.

Preparing Your Blog and Apps on Google

Today in class we learned how we could use new apps on Google Drive. The apps I chose to do were MindMup and draw.io Diagrams. These apps are very useful in some ways. In my next paragraph I will tell you how.
The first app I used was MindMup. This app was useful in many ways. One way I found it was useful was because you were able to brainstorm ideas and make charts of certain things. For my own use, I found it was useful for helping me brainstorm ideas for stories. This app is very easy to use and I would recommend using it.
The second app I used was draw.io Diagrams. This app was very useful. This app is great. You can use it to map out any kind of data.
