Journal Entry #3 (Digital Rights and Responsibilities)

After completing the assignment on Digital Rights and Responsibilities, One of the things I found most surprising would be how often these ideas are ignored. One way they are ignored is bullying online. We tell people everyday not to bully online, but it is ignored and people continue to do it. Another way is that there are people using other people's work. That is plagiarism.

In my opinion, I do not think that people act responsibly online. I think that when people use technology they do not know the risks of having their account hacked. They also might not realize that they are sharing personal information.

The commandment I believe is most important would be " Thou shalt not hack" I think this is most important because when you hack or get hacked, you are taking that persons personal information. You should never hack because it is not your business to be stealing others information.

One of the biggest issues around digital rights and responsibilities with young people online would be cyber bulling. This is a major issue because it is not right to hurt people online or in any other way. People spread hate to others and think nothing of it but really, they do not know how much they could be hurting that other person.
